SlyGuy21 In terms of horror sequels, it does a few things better than it's predecessor, but I still prefer the first one. The only thing I thought was wrong with the original was the shaky-cam, and thankfully that's downplayed in this. Except for the kid's camera sequence, the camera's held slightly steady, it shakes during action scenes, but other than that you can tell the directors actually put effort into this. It's not just a lazy cash-in like other sequels. The biggest problem the movie has is that it feels like it has to tie up loose ends from the first movie. Did you want to follow the dad that couldn't get in during the first movie? No? Well that sucks because a third of the movie is centered around him. The iconic ending to the first movie is also kind of spoiled in this, instead of like a radical mutation of rabies, we have demon possessed zombies. Now demon possession can be creepy, but I'm pretty sure Satan can't be transferred through the exchange of bodily fluids. The demonic zombie twist is certainly unique, but I wouldn't say it's a good twist. They tried to do something different with this, and I can respect that, but I think I'll just stick to the first movie if I want to see another one of these again.
kreleroll129 Well, I just saw this movie with my girlfriend and there are few things which caught my eye and which I really like.SpoilersI wouldn't call this a zombie-type movie but a demonic possession type of movie which we learn from this movie. And what I like about it is that it isn't a type of house in nowhere which contains a happy family and one member is possessed but this movie is placed in an apartment building in the middle of the city with demons in it. Unique in my opinion.I like the parallel storytelling from the teens and the SWAT team. And while I'm at it. I'm not sure what happened to the two teens which got locked in a room. As I saw, only one got possessed. I suppose they also got infected. Anyways, one of the best movies alongside REC and would recommend it to everyone.
Daniel T. So it starts as a laughably bad sequel and instantly you think to yourself "They dropped the ball on this one. REC 1 was great, this one has SWAT going into the building, it's going to be really chill." (<-Not spoiler, that's the first thing you see in the film.) Trust the creators. As the film goes on, the main characters, the plan and progression and events are completely changed and suddenly you sit there, curled up in a ball, a baseball bat in your hand, lights on everywhere and Pokemon playing on your laptop. It's terrifying. It keeps the heart of the first film but ups everything a notch. One of the few, rare, excellent sequels.Great atmosphere, great acting (seriously, great acting, it's stupidly easy to believe them) and great execution.9/10 because I had to keep the lights on for 2 days in a row and couldn't sleep. And because it is a bit too supernatural for my linking. For reference, The Ring made me flinch twice. Good film, just not as scary as this one.
Thanos Karagioras "Rec 2" is the second movie of the Rec trilogy and the story continues where the first one finished but in this one we watch a group of SWAT to enter this building with a medical officer to control the situation and to see what happened to the sealed off apartment.I liked this second movie because of the storyline and how that continues and I believe that Jaume Balagueró and Paco Plaza for one more time did a great job. I also liked the interpretations of Jonathan D. Mellor who played as Dr. Owen, and Manuela Velasco who played as Ángela Vidal as in the first one. Alejandro Casaseca who played as Manu made an also good interpretation. Finally I have to tell you that "Rec 2" is a little bit lower than the first one but it is an also nice movie.
